Barbara Durham took the initiative and created a captivating collage that visually represented Pat Black Gold's poignant short story, "The Crystal Beads," which centered around the remarkable courage displayed by a young girl and her mother during the Holocaust. The two talented individuals, Pat and Barbara, showcased their collaboration at the 2019 Florida Pen Women Conference, where they caught the attention of Sheila Firestone, an accomplished musician, and composer from Boca Raton.
